Shelter Animal of the Week: Tyson is Young at Heart

This week, consider adopting an older dog like Tyson at Save-a-Pet Animal Rescue in Port Jefferson Station.

Though many people peruse animal shelters for puppies and kittens, it is often the case that these facilities are filled up with older animals who for one reason or another have found themselves homeless. Skip the teething and over-energized phase, and consider adopting a slightly older pet like Tyson at Save-a-Pet Animal Rescue in Port Jefferson Station.

Tyson is a youthful eight-year-old Labrador retriever mix who was orphaned when his owner passed away. He is fully grown at 40 pounds, so he would even be great for apartment living. According to shelter staff, Tyson is a laid-back dog who would be fine left at home during the workday, and would be easily kept content with an evening walk or car ride. As an added plus, Tyson gets along with other dogs and cats, and would fit well into most homes.

Tyson is neutered, house trained, and up-to-date on all of his routine shots.
