Shelter Animal of the Week: Bring a Little Magic Home

This week's shelter animal from Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue is Magic, a cuddly one-eyed black cat.

According to ASPCA statistics, approximately 70 percent of all cats that enter animal shelters each year are euthanized, which is a terrifying truth for cat lovers and owners.

Fortunately, there are no-kill facilities like Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center in Port Jefferson Station. Save-A-Pet takes care of these kitties for as long as they need it, becoming a temporary home for such friendly felines as Magic.

Magic is a four-year-old male black cat who arrived at the shelter when his owner lost his home, and the landlord at the home he moved to was allergic to cats. When he was dropped off at the shelter, he was also found to be missing his left eye, which staff says does not bother him at all, and does not require any treatment.

Magic would make a great addition to any type of home, including one with other cats or dogs. He likes to socialize with the other cats at the shelter, and is incredibly affectionate with people.

He is neutered, up-to-date with all of his routine shots, and housetrained.
