Shelter Animal of the Week: Bluto is Softer Than He Seems

Bluto is a pit bull who looks tough, but is actually very sweet.

Bluto had a tough early life, having been found tied to a telephone pole in his prior owner’s front yard, and was brought to in Port Jefferson Station.

Bluto is a large, young pit bull who may look gruff, but unlike his bully of a namesake from Popeye, he has a great temperament. Shelter staff members say that he is sweet, and “quite simply all love.” Since he has been given a temporary home and kept safe from the elements, all he needs now is a warm bed, a soft toy, and an owner to love him.

Bluto is housetrained, neutered, and up-to-date with his routine shots.
