Persistent Residents Score Road Sign Victory
"Do Not Block Side Road" sign was recently installed on Old Town Road.
Residents of the Lakes development at Old Town Road and Erin Lane scored a recent victory: they successfully lobbied the Town of Brookhaven to install a sign that reads "Do Not Block Side Road" at the corner of the development's entrance, according to a report published Friday in Newsday.
Town officials told Newsday earlier this year that the previous "Do Not Block Intersection" sign at the corner, which accompanied the white grid on the pavement, was sufficient; however, resident Carolyn Lomba said otherwise, and lobbied elected officials successfully to have the sign updated.
