Oct. 6: Wolfstock Arrives, PTA Meeting, Open Mic Night and More

Wednesday is an action-packed day in Three Village.

There's something for everyone happening in Three Village on Wednesday, whether you're a business owner, musician, parent or sports fan.

1. If you're looking to invest in a franchise, don't miss this seminar on franchise ownership at the Stony Brook Small Business Development Center. Registration is required for the event, which is free, open to all, and starts at 8:30 a.m. Call 631-632-9042 for more information.

2. Let your inner musician out at the Velvet Lounge's open mic night. Between 5 and 9 p.m., local artist Dave Case will host an open jam where musicians can join in or take the stage solo.

3. Wolfstock will take Stony Brook by storm today. It's the university's annual Homecoming celebration, which kicks off at noon in the SAC Plaza with carnival-style fun and lasts all the way through the weekend. View the full lineup of Wolfstock events here.

4. It's a big day for parent interaction at Nassakeag Elementary. Two kindergarten meet-and-greet sessions are scheduled, one at 9 a.m. and one at 6 p.m. Then, parents will gather for a PTA meeting at 7 p.m.

5. Another new business has opened its doors to Three Village. Join the Three Village Chamber of Commerce and financial advisor Eliel Pimentel for a grand opening celebration starting at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. ribbon cutting at the new office of Edward Jones at 249 Main Street in East Setauket.
