Local Resident Plans Recipe Book Based on Beloved Farm Stand

Recipes will feature produce that you can buy at Ann Marie's Farm Stand.

A local resident and frequent customer at Ann Marie's Farm Stand in Setauket is putting together a recipe collection to celebrate the much-loved farm stand.

Until June 7, Terry Dybvig is accepting recipe submissions from community members to include in the book, which is centered around the produce that you can purchase at Ann Marie's Farm Stand. She said the idea is "to get people to appreciate what Ann Marie’s has."

"I think it’s important to buy locally," she said. "I think Ann Marie's does an incredible service to the community."

Dybvig is seeking original recipes, family recipes, and traditional recipes with a personalized twist. She said she plans to sell the collection at the cost, not to make a profit.

She said the recipe book is also a tribute to the farm stand's owner, Mary Ann Deriso, whom she described as a wonderful person.

"She’s genuinely interested and caring about everybody who walks in the door," Dybvig said. "I felt like I want to do whatever can to encourage people to support her business."

Deriso, whose farm stand has been around for 19 years, said she thinks Dybvig's idea is a lovely one.

"It’s really nice of her," Deriso said. "She’s a great customer of mine. She’s a very good hearted person."

Those who are interested can submit recipes to recipesam@gmail.com until June 7.
