Help Wanted: Job Postings in Three Village

Here's a sampling of open positions available throughout town.

Stony Brook University is hiring for a vast array of positions, especially for assistant professors, as well as for various specialties.  There are also many other postings in the science industry on other sites, including an environmental analyst and a dental technician.

Environmental Analyst

The New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission is looking for an environmental analyst who will work with the New York State Department of Environmental Consvervation’s in East Setauket. As an environmental analyst, one must prepare and manage the annual federal grant and implement various plans for environmental sustainability. A B.A. in biological sciences and course work in coastal management, oceanography, and marine ecology is a must. Be sure to apply soon, as the closing date for applications is Friday, Jan. 28.

Coding Specialist

Stony Brook University Hospital is hiring coding specialists to abstract information from patients’ records, enter codes on source documents, and communicate with physicians to properly code records. Applicants should have an associate’s degree in health information management or have successfully completed an AHIMA coding certificate program.

Assistant Professor

Stony Brook University is also looking for an assistant professor of either biostatistics or computational statistics in the applied mathematics and statistics department. Candidates for this positions should expect to teach courses, advise and mentor students, and conduct research. Published papers, awards, letters of recommendation, and proposed lines for future research are recommended. This is a tenure track position.

Dental Technician

Lema Dental Lab in East Setauket is seeking a full-time dental technician to specialize in plaster in the model and die department. Technicians will create models and possibly trim dies, as well as make custom trays and bites. Some experience is necessary, but Lema is willing to train applicants.

Teacher Aide

Enjoy working with young children? The Learning Experience in Stony Brook is hiring teacher aides to work Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Teacher aides will help implement lesson plans and monitor children, as well as take over teaching responsibilities when the teacher is out, and prepare and close out the classroom at the beginning and end of every day. Applicants should preferably be either currently studying or have a degree in early childhood education.

Bakery Counter Person

Via Dolce Bakery and Café in Stony Brook is seeking an experienced adult as a counter person with various responsibilities throughout the bakery. Hours are flexible, but working weekends is a must. 

Speech Language Pathologist

The Suffolk Center for Speech and Myofunctional Therapy in Stony Brook is looking to hire a part-time speech language pathologist, preferably with a Master's degree. The center pays $70 to $75 per hour, and offers diverse caseloads in a newly renovated office.

Tax Preparer

Help others get ready to submit their taxes as a tax preparer with Accountemps, which places temp accountants throughout Three Village as well as the rest of Long Island. A minimum of two years' experience in tax preparation is necessary for this position. 

Chemistry Tutor

A parent in East Setauket is looking for a chemistry tutor for his child, and is ready for the tutor to start as soon as possible. The starting pay is $25 to $50 an hour, depending on experience.
