Why Go: An award-winning singer/songwriter who has toured all over the country takes the stage at UUFSB's monthly live music coffeehouse. Coffee, tea and snacks are available for purchase.
Price: Tickets are $12.50 at the door

Where/When: Velvet Lounge, Friday, Feb. 11 at 10 p.m.
Why Go: Turbine is a New York City-based improv rock group that has played widely across the festival scene, including Bonaroo.
Price: $5 at the door / 21 and over

Why Go: Recall a simpler era with saddle shoes, poodle skirts and greaser outfits. Food and drinks, music and contests.

Where/When: Avalon Park, Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8 a.m. (9 a.m. – weather dependent)
Why Go:  Enjoy an hour and a half walk through the Avalon Preserve, the East Farm Preserve, the Stony Brook Estuary and Harbor and see some of the beautiful native and migratory birds as they feed, breed, and vacation.
Price: Free

Where/When: – Carson Auditorium, Friday, Feb. 11 through Sunday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: The original Broadway production of the show, which opened in 1964, was the first run of a musical in history to surpass the 3,000 performance mark. Now enjoy a performance by The Stony Brook School Theatrical Arts Society. 
Price: $8 (value), $10 (regular) and $12 (premium).

Where/When: Theatre Three in Port Jefferson, Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. & Sunday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m.
