Cancellations: SBU Classes, School Activities and More

Your list of public closings including government buildings, school buildings and libraries.

Cancelations and closures have already begun ahead of the impending winter storm that will bring significant snowfall to Long Island beginning this evening.

All classes for Friday at Stony Brook University's main campus, Southampton and Manhattan campuses have been canceled.

Emma Clark Library will close early Thursday at 5 p.m. Three Village School District has closed all district buildings as of 2 p.m. and will remain closed Friday. All evening activities have been canceled for Thursday and all afternoon and evening activities are canceled for Friday including all athletic practices and contests, according to the district's website.

Brookhaven town will close all Recreation and Senior Centers and the Aquatic Center in Mastic as of 4:30 pm today and they will remain closed all day Friday. All Town programs have been suspended for the same duration.

Residents should call 451-TOWN to report snow related issues. Call 911 for police, fire and ambulance emergencies only. To report a power outage or downed wires, call PSEG at 800-436-7734 or go to www.psegliny.com to make a report online. 

 The Town will also be sending out e-mail alerts to residents who have registered on their e-mail list. If you are not on the list, you can sign up today at www.brookhaven.org. Residents can also sign up for countywide Code Red alerts at www.suffolkcountyny.gov.
