5 Things to Do This Weekend

Patch picks for weekend fun.

Because the party isn't limited to St. Patrick's Day this weekend – here are a few more options for weekend fun.

1. Coinciding with the week of the Girl Scouts of America's 100th anniversary, you can attend Setauket Troop 405's talent show and ice cream social at Minnesauke Elementary from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday night. The night will feature acts from scouts in kindergarten through sixth grade, and is a fundraiser for local food pantries. According to troop leader Kathy Whelan, the fourth graders in the troop planned the entire event themselves. "That's the whole idea behind Girl Scouts, to produce leaders and good citizens," Whelan said.

2. Add a bit of music to your weekend with the Ithaca College Choir at Ward Melville High School at 7 p.m. on Friday. The choir will be joined by the Ward Melville Concert Choir, Women's Choir, and Camerata in the concert.
