SBU Men's Basketball Team Aims High This Year

Head coach Steve Pikiell talks about the upcoming season with ESPN.com.

Steve Pikiell, head coach of the Stony Brook men's basketball team, keeps a pair of basketballs in his office – one from his first win as the Seawolves' head coach, and another from his team's first regular season conference championship. But he told ESPN.com that he's saving room for a third – a basketball from, he hopes, his team's first NCAA tournament game.

The Seawolves are ready to begin the 2011-12 season on Nov. 11 at Indiana, and will play their first home game Nov. 13 against Mount Ida.

According to the ESPN.com report, standout Tommy Brenton is healthy after missing the 2010-11 season due to injury; last season's leading scorer Bryan Dougher is ready to go; and the Seawolves have a new weapon in Ron Bracey, a junior college transfer.
