Police Offering Reward for Information on Setauket Hit-and-Run Death

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000.

The Suffolk police department's Crime Stoppers unit is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the Aug. 23 hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a Setauket man.

Joseph Santiago, 47, a resident of Ridgeway Avenue, was walking on Ridgeway Avenue when he was struck and killed by a vehicle. Police say the driver was driving a white car westbound on Ridgeway when the accident occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. The vehicle may have sustained front-end or undercarriage damage, police said.

Anyone with information can anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
