Halloween is a special day on our cul-de-sac in East Setauket. All of the neighborhood kids get dressed up, and the kids and the parents all go out trick-or-treating together. After the kids have filled up their candy buckets, we all gather in our neighbor's garage, which has been turned into a spooky Halloween party zone and the kids and parents enjoy Halloween festivities together. It's a day that brings our neighborhood together and creates lasting memories for years to come. Jewish Summer Festival Hits West Meadow Beach

First annual festival features a variety of food and entertainment.

Families turned out in droves for the first annual Jewish Summer Festival, sponsored by Chabad at Stony Brook, on Thursday night at West Meadow Beach. From cotton candy, crafts, and face painting to music, food, and entertainment, guests enjoyed a night of classic summer fun.

Over 200 parish members and their families enjoyed en evening of fun, food and entertainment at the 7th Annual Parish Festival and fund raiser held on the grounds of the St. James Roman Catholic Church on Saturday. Parishioners were treated to a barbeque, clowns, face painting, performances by the youth ensemble orchestra and its singers, Broadway songs, dance, science experiments, ring tosses, tee-ball, arts and crafts, horse races, one-legged races, and a raffle.

Some boys said there used to be better fishing on the pond but the weeds grew in. Later I saw them fishing off the bridge for large mouth bass and sunfish.
