With doctors and nurses specifically trained in trauma and critical care cases, the emergency-unit features the Chest Pain Center, the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program, the EMS Program (with ground and helicopter transport), the Patient Transfer Center and a Pediatric Emergency Department. The unit handles more than 76,000 emergency visits per year.
