The Ward Melville Heritage Organization celebrates Ward Melville's legacy of philanthropy by providing opportunitiesMore for community enhancement. Founded in 1939, the WMHO preserves and furthers Ward Melville's original vision of combining history and natural beauty to enrich the lives of Three Village residents.

Among the activities sponsored by the WMHO are summer concerts, holiday festivals, and a wide variety of educational exhibits and programs. The organization maintains an Educational and Cultural Center located in Stony Brook Village.

The WMHO also maintains a number of historical properties throughout the Three Village area, including the Thompson House (c. 1710), the Hawkins-Mount House (c. 1725), and the buildings which currently house the Long Island Museum of Art, History and Carriages.

The Setauket Presbyterian Church was established in 1660. After a fire destroyed the original building in 1811, theMore church was rebuilt in 1812. Today the Setauket Presbyterian Church is a modern institution steeped in history and faith, with a wide variety of educational programs, social and cultural activities and mission and outreach work. The Steeple News, the church newsletter, is published nine times per year and the church also maintains a Web site full of news and information.
