absolutely her rights were denied, if i have to drive behind cars with their fish stickers, and godRead More is good bumper stickers, than a woman has a right to display her choice to be an atheist

Her rights were violated. If "I" have to look at all the jesus propaganda, then I shouldRead More be able to voice my right to free speech. While I would never choose such a plate for fear that my car would get vandalized, I totally support this woman's right to request it.

How is the driver of the bus endangering them? Would you rather have 40 drunk teens drivingRead More themselves?
Cheap Sam April 20, 2014 at 11:51 am
Really? He allowed minors to bring the alcohol on the bus. The larger problem is thatRead More "Parents" don't parent anymore and the drinking, and drugs along with the teen sex has totally run out of control. It all has now become an accepted behavior. Kids are drinking at 12, 13 and 14 so by the time they are into high school they are full blown alcoholics. Where are the parents? All they have to do is check the kids social media outlets and you can find who, when and where the kids are going to drink or just check their social media the next day and you will find numerous pictures of the past nights events. It's so easy yet it goes on week after week after week. Where are the parents? Probably drinking themselves. Monkey see monkey do!

"The Long Island Limousine Association says while Coachman is not a member of its organization,Read More industry standards call for companies to sign contracts with parents in situations were teens are being transported, and the fine print always bans alcohol for underage riders. I don't like debit cards either, it is a direct line to one's bank account. What I didn't like wasRead More my bank replacing my ATM card with a dual usage ATM/debit card without asking me...I made them cancel it and give me an ATM functionality card only. Some people don't have credit line established yet (like my college student son) and have no choice but to use a debit card instead of credit card. I take precautions and have it assigned to an isolated checking account, and urge son to monitor it closely (set up email alerts), good training for future financial independence.

This is a really tragic story. It scares me. I work with several young people who put video gamesRead More ahead of their kids. They get the big earned income tax credit checks, buy game consoles, big screen tvs, games up the ying yang. Their kids get yard sale flip flops, wear torn under sized clothes. They give their kids cough syrup to put them to sleep and stay up playing games. I pray no of them would ever do this.
B John April 21, 2014 at 05:23 am

It'sRead More the generation of 'look downs" staring at their phones all day with the entitlement aspect. 18 is a legal adult. I would like to eliminate some misperceptions that are circulating about the University and shareRead More with you the actions taken by the University to help break this cycle of improper housing practices. CONCERN: There is a perception in the community that the University has tripled in size in recent years, and that there are not enough beds on campus to house all the students wanting rooms. FACT: This is simply not true. The number of available on campus beds has kept pace with the increase of students. Over the past ten years, we have increased enrollment in the area of 200 students per year. Over the next five years, enrollment is projected to increase by about 163 students per year. Over the course of this same time period, we have increased and will continue to increase on-campus housing by an average of 217 beds per year. These are verifiable numbers that show student enrollment has grown at a very modest and planned pace and that on-campus housing has increased accordingly. http://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/community_relations/docs/oc_housing_letter_10-13.pdf

No William, what she needs is about 50000 volts of electricity.Fry the fat yom up nice and crispy.
David Greenberg April 20, 2014 at 01:39 pm
So what you're saying william is that anyone who comes along and claims "PTSD",Read More "ABUSE", blah, blah blah should get a free pass? Why have laws then? The whole concept of making something a criminal act is that we want to discourage it from happening in the first place, by putting deterrents into effect. One such deterrent is PRISON, another is the Death Penalty. If this person was being abused, she had options BEFORE coming to this point - for whatever reason, she make a decision to kill someone, and a Jury of her peers determined her guilt. So off to jail she goes - hopefully FOREVER.

The more I think about it, the more disturb I get. Think about it. You go the supermarket. They wantRead More you to scan your own groceries. Bag your own groceries. They want you to put the money in the machine. Have they lowered the prices? No. Now when you go to fast food places they want you to do their job for them. Pour your own drinks. Put the soda machine behind the counter and do the work that you want the minimum wage increase for.
