The SBUMC Department of Anesthesiology is responsible for providing general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for the hospital's patients. Its specialties include ambulatory and office-based anesthesia, cardiac anesthesia, general anesthesia, neuro anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, orthopedic and plastic anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, urologic and gynecologic anesthesia, and out-of-operating-room anesthesia. The Department of Anesthesiology also provides acute and chronic inpatient and outpatient pain management services.
