Three Village

Kiwanis Club of Three Village-Brookhaven Township 16th Annual Duck Race

The 16th Annual Kiwanis Duck Race will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at  at Setauket Pond Park (located next to Se-Port Deli).

There will have plenty of food and beverages, a large assortment of vendors selling their arts and crafts and activities for the children.

You can enter the race and a chance to win cash and consolation prizes. Each entry is only $5 or better yet, buy a flock of ducks of 10 for only $35!

Three Village Historical Society Spirits Tour

Visit the historic cemeteries of the Presbyterian and Caroline Churches where you will meet the men and women who have served our country and community during the Three Village Historical Society’s Spirits Tour on Saturday starting at 4:45 p.m. at Setauket Presbyterian Church.

Tour leaves every 15 minutes and last approximately 1 to 1/1/2 hours.

Film Fanatics

A new film discussion group has begun at Comsewogue Public Library. Head over Thurs. at 6 p.m. for  a viewing of the documentary film Stories We Tell, and a lively, interesting discussion. Refreshments will be served. This program is open to all Suffolk County residents. If students in 9th grade or above wish to attend, they must be with their parent/guardian. Fund Raiser for Comsewogue SEPTA

Swirls and Twirls in Port Jefferson Station will be hosting a fundraising event for the Comsewogue SEPTA on Fri. at 4:30 p.m. Customers will receive 10 percent off their purchase.

Explore the Science of Ice Cream at the Maritime Explorium

From a liquid to a solid:  Explore the physics of phase transitions while making your own batch of ice cream. The Maritime Explorium is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m every Saturday and Sunday.  Batches of ice cream will be made at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Wine and Local Oyster Pairing Event

Try  an event that is not to be missed. Wine 2 Vine  will be conducting a wine and oyster pairing from 1-4 p.m. on Sat. featuring one dozen freshly shucked local oysters and four wines that pair perfectly . 318 Wynn Ln, Port Jefferson.

Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Show

Port Jefferson Conservancy presents Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Show at PJ Village Center. Limited seating.  $65 per person includes buffet dinner by La Parrilla,  cash bar and raffles.

Sayville

Harvest and Country Music Festival

The Long Island Marine Museum’s first-ever Harvest and Country Music Festival event will be held Sunday, Oct. 20 starting at 11 a.m.  The friendly entertainment including live country music, line dancing, a pumpkin patch, suds and grub and plenty of kids activities including pony rides and a petting zoo. Fundraiser/Awareness Event

The Paws for a Cause- America's Vet Dog 2 mile walk to the bay will take place on Sunday, Oct. 20 with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. behind Blue Point Fire House. The Bayport Blue Point Community Lions Club is sponsoring the eighth annual dog walk to benefit America's Vet Dog which provides wounded veterans with services/guide dogs to improve the quality of their lives. Educational Program

The Sayville Historical Society's Program will host an "Insight into the Vietnam War” program on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. at the society’s building at 39 Edwards Street, Sayville. The free event features a slideshow presented by Jim Connell when he was stationed in Vietnam in 1967 with the Combined Action Platoon.  He'll describe the Marines' mission there and show us what life was like in a Vietnam village.

Nokomis Fall Festival

Fall festival at the 151 Holbrook Rd. school in Holbrook Saturday at 12 p.m.. Rain date set for Oct. 20.

Beatles Night 2

Take One Performing Arts, 1021 Portion Rd in Ronkonkoma, presents night of songs by The Beatles on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Patchogue

Haunted Pirate Voyage

A ghoulish ride down the Patchogue River combining live actors, filmed footage and element of disorientation from sailing on a boat with windows blacked out sets sail throughout the weekend. Click through for hours and ticket information.

Patchogue American Legion Auxiliary Unit 269 Fall Harvest Dinner Dance

Dinner and dancing event being held at Hagerman Fire Department, 510 Oakdale Ave. in East Patchogue Friday from 6 p.m.-10 p.m.. Includes all you can eat food, and all you can drink beer and wine. Live band is Somewhere in Time. Proceeds go to veterans and troops. Tickets are $30 per person and $15 for children under 13. Information available by calling 631-902-2590.

Free Art Gallery Showing

A Halloween themed show celebrating Christopher L. Hansen's work at Artspace Patchogue, 20 Terry St. in Patchogue, Friday at 7 p.m. See all of his best work new and old, digital and traditional. Along with music from Joe Gigs.  This event is free and the artwork is available for purchase.

DOCUMENTARY FILM: Good Ol’ Freda

PMHS Robotics Team 329 will be hosting a group yard sale on Saturday October 19th at Medford Memorial Park, at the intersection of Route 112 and Oregon Avenue in Medford. All proceeds to benefit FIRST Robotics Team 329 and the FIRST Robotics Program.
