The Week Ahead: Carmans River Community Meeting, Board of Education

A look at this week's happenings.


1. On Monday, the Affiliated Brookhaven Civic Organizations will host a meeting for residents to learn about the new iteration of the Town of Brookhaven's Carmans River Conservation and Management Plan, and how it would affect local residents. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at the Main Street fire house in Setauket.

2. Take a walk through time at "The Last Miller," an historical portrayal by local historian Bev Tyler on Tuesday at 11 a.m. starting at the red barn at Frank Melville Memorial Park. 

3.  The Three Village Central School District's Board of Education will meet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the North Country Administration Center.

4. 
The Brookhaven Town Board will also meet on Tuesday, set for 5 p.m. at Town Hall in Farmingville.

5. Check out a comedy performance to benefit the Stony Brook-based organization Response of Suffolk County, which runs a suicide crisis hotline and other crucial programs. The show is set for 8 p.m. on Friday at Theater Three in Port Jefferson.
