Brooklyn Boomer: Growing Up in the Fifties
Brooklyn-born author Martin Levinson discuss his book Brooklyn Boomer, Growing Up in the Fifties. The author's recollections of his childhood during the fifties alternate with chapters detailing cultural events of the times. Part memoir, part social history, this is a captivating portrait of Brooklyn and America in the middle of the 20th Century. Monday, 10 a.m. Emma Clark Library.

Strong Island Derby Revolution - Roller Derby Recruitment
Strong Island Derby Revolution's first training session of 2014 is right around the corner.  Women over 21, you're invited to SIDR's open house on January 28th.  You'll have the option to participate in a free bootcamp of basic derby skills, meet other members and learn more about the fast growing sport of women's roller derby.
