Minnesauke students collect donations for the local VFW outside grocery stores on Friday.
Students from Minnesauke Elementary clutched warm drinks and donation canisters on Friday morning, handing out American flags and red poppies in exchange for donations to the local VFW Post 3054 in Setauket. The students will be stationed outside King Kullen and Wild by Nature until 3 p.m. Friday.
