The Stony Brook Seawolves capped a thrilling season with a narrow loss to top-ranked FCS opponent Sam Houston State on Saturday, losing 34-27 on a touchdown with 1:01 left in the game. Stony Brook held an early 10-7 lead after a touchdown pass caught by Matt Brevi and two field goals from Wesley Skiffington, but wouldn't regain the lead in the second half. Senior Brock Jackolski rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown as the Seawolves totaled 150 rushing yards against unbeaten Sam Houston State, the most the Bearkats' defense has given up on the ground this season. The Seawolves finished the season at 9-4, its best season to date.
