Van Dalen Moves on to the Women's 1500m Semis

Van Dalen will race again on Wednesday.

Lucy Van Dalen, a former Stony Brook University athlete who is representing New Zealand in the London Olympics, has qualified for the semifinals in the women's 1500m race, Stony Brook University athletics announced Monday.

Van Dalen, who graduated this past spring, ran a 4:07.04. While she finished eighth in her heat – the top six from each heat advance to the semifinals – her time was good enough to earn her a spot among the six next best finishers.

Following the race, Van Dalen said to the TVNZ news network: "I feel like I had a really strong race today. I felt really good out there. The last 200 was a little bit pushy and shovy and they got away from me a bit but I feel like I did my best today and I'm pleased with the performance."

NBC will re-air the race at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Her next race will be Wednesday.

everyone should research what all the school administrators are raking in and the multple levels ofRead More staff that exists at TVCSD. It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!
Reality Check May 15, 2013 at 08:01 pm
Last year we lost 20 staff...this year we are losing over 50 meanwhile the remaining staff isRead More getting a 6% raise...the UNION is eating itself and ruining our school and the BOE is not dealing with the situation..the benefits are up nearly 13% this year...what do you think will happen next year? Another 60,70,80 to be laid off? My vote is NO!!!!
