Three Village Scoreboard: Piccininni Repeats in League I Wrestling Championship

WRESTLING
Ward Melville's Nick Piccininni, a defending state wrestling champ at 106 pounds, has won another League I wrestling title, this time at 113 pounds. The Ward Melville sophomore is undefeated this season and now has 131 career wins, tying a record for the most at WMHS.

Ward Melville 17, Hills East 10: Macklin Fitzpatrick went 2-0 in epee and Robert Kent went 2-0 in sabre for undefeated Ward Melville (10-0) on Thursday.

Ward Melville 21, Hills East 6: Melanie Holl went 3-0 in epee and Kyra Durko went 3-0 in foil for undefeated Ward Melville (10-0) on Thursday.
BOYS' BASKETBALL
Commack 72, Ward Melville 49: Ryan Hart and Jake Kepes led Ward Melville (7-4) with 11 points and 10 points, respectively, in a loss to Commack (6-6) on Friday.
Stony Brook 55, Greenport 43: Brandon Odom scored 16 points and Andrew Daniel totaled 12 points and 10 rebounds for Stony Brook (12-0) on Friday.
GIRLS' BASKETBALL
Commack 51, Ward Melville 29: Sam Scarfogliero and Lauren Dennis each scored six points for Ward Melville in a loss to Commack on Friday.
Stony Brook 41, Port Jefferson 38: Keara Vancol had 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Bears (9-1 League VIII) on Friday.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Stony Brook 56, New Hampshire 54: Anthony Jackson scored 11 points for the Seawolves (17-5 overall, 8-1 America East) – including a three-pointer with 1:16 remaining that put Stony Brook up by four. Dave Coley added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the Seawolves, who now have the most road wins in the NCAA.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Stony Brook 60, New Hampshire 47: Sabre Proctor scored 17 points and Chikilra Goodman added 11 points and 6 rebounds as Stony Brook completed a sweep of New Hampshire this season. The Seawolves are 12-10 overall – tripling their win total from the entire 2011-12 season – and are 4-5 in the conference.
