Seawolves Soar in First-Round NCAA Baseball Regional

Fourth-seeded Stony Brook beats No. 1 Miami, 10-2.

The Seawolves made their first appearance in Baseball America's collegiate poll at No. 25 this week. And on Friday, they showed Miami why, beating the top-seeded Hurricanes 10-2 in the Coral Gables Regional.

Junior Maxx Tissenbaum had three hits and three RBI and senior Tyler Johnson allowed two runs in 6.1 innings for the Seawolves.

The Seawolves entered the game with a school-record 46 wins and the best winning percentage (.807) in the nation, and are now 47-11 and the owners of a 12-game winning streak. It's not the first NCAA tournament win for Stony Brook, which also beat N.C. State at the 2010 Myrtle Beach Regional.
