Seawolves Favored to Win America East Hoops

Yahoo! Sports writer picks Stony Brook University, led by star forward Tommy Brenton, to take the America East title this year after losing in the tournament finals in March.

In a college hoops division that could have its competition level highly affected this upcoming season with a loss of numerous high-talent transfers, one Yahoo! Sports writer has picked the Stony Brook University Seawolves to win the America East.

Beyond that, the piece picks senior forward Tommy Brenton to be the league's player of the year, and freshman Jameel Warner as the league's top newcomer.

Jeff Eisenberg writes:

For Stony Brook to finally make the NCAA tournament after falling in the America East title game three straight years, do-it-all forward Tommy Brenton must look more for his own shot, speedy point guard Dave Coley needs to make better decisions with the ball in his hands and a talented freshman class has to contribute immediately.

Last March, SBU fell to the Vermont Catamounts in the America East tournament final. Eisenberg picks those two teams to hold the reigns on the league again this year.

Seriously? We are asked to send in enough supplies per kid each year to supply 5 kids. Where does itRead More all go? It gets lost, thrown out, or ends up back in the students home via backpack. The problem is not the lack of supplies, but a lack of personal responsibility. But if we send in enough supplies each year for ten or fifteen students, then we might be able to avoid the underlying problem.

everyone should research what all the school administrators are raking in and the multple levels ofRead More staff that exists at TVCSD. It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!

Last year we lost 20 staff...this year we are losing over 50 meanwhile the remaining staff isRead More getting a 6% raise...the UNION is eating itself and ruining our school and the BOE is not dealing with the situation..the benefits are up nearly 13% this year...what do you think will happen next year? Another 60,70,80 to be laid off? My vote is NO!!!!
