Seawolf Scoreboard: Rough Week for Stony Brook Basketball

Women's Basketball

Binghamton 63, Stony Brook 43: The Seawolves shot a season low 23.2 percent, including 5-27 in the first half, in dropping their second straight conference game on Thursday. Sam Landers had 6 of the team's 16 field goals, matching her career high with 16 points. Juanita Cochran notched a double-double in just 13 minutes with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Destiny Jacobs pulled down 11 rebounds for a Seawolves team that was outrebounded 60-42. Stony Brook has now lost eight straight games.

UMBC 65, Stony Brook 52: Down by 16 points with only 14 minutes to play, the Seawolves went on a 15-1 run to cut the UMBC lead down to 1. However, Stony Brook would not be able to take a lead late and UMBC went on to a 13 point victory in the conference opener on Monday. Kirsten Jeter may have had her strongest game of the season, scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists, leading the Seawolves in all categories. Stony Brook shot just 6-32 in the first half, but the defense hung in there holding UMBC to only 7 field goals. UMBC shot 68.2 percent in the second half. Jodie Plikus started, but played only t.

Men's Basketball

Cornell 60, Stony Brook 52: Stony Brook shot 34.8 percent from the floor and 2-13 in dropping its second straight game on Saturday. It was a defensive struggle, with Cornell's Chris Wroblewski rising to the challenge in scoring 29 points, nearly half of the Big Red's points by himself. Bryan Dougher scored 12 points to lead Stony Brook and Dave Coley continued his strong play with 9 points and a team high 6 rebounds.

Vermont 55, Stony Brook 49: Marcus Rouse scored a career high 19 points to lead the Seawolves, but the team shot 20.7 percent from the field in the second half and fell in its conference home opener on Tuesday. Vermont had a strong advantage from the free throw line in the defensive contest, taking 14 more foul shots than the Seawolves. Coley made the most of his 25 minutes off the bench, scoring 8 points and pulling down 3 rebounds. Dougher had a rough shooting game, going 2-9 for 7 points and 3 assists.

I agree..maybe that is one of the reasons road pavement safety lines and striping esp. in the 3VRead More area are virtually non existent!! VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION that leaves the TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN liable involving accidents and fatalities. I think the new T.O.B. highway super, (D. L.) should make this a priority!

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.
