Report: Stony Brook Offers Facilities to NY Jets

ESPN reports SBU athletic director Jim Fiore told the Jets he would waive the usual facilities rental fee.

Stony Brook athletic director Jim Fiore offered up SBU's facilities to the New York Jets for an Aug. 21 training-camp practice, ESPNNewYork.com reported Tuesday.

The Jets, for whom Fiore would have waived the usual facilities rental fee, have opted to hold that practice at MetLife Stadium instead, according to the report.

"I'm disappointed for the people of Long Island -- and there are a lot of Jets fans on Long Island. We'd love to have the Jets," Fiore told ESPN.
