The Stony Brook University football team will play in the Colonial Athletic Association starting in 2013, according to a report published in Newsday.
While Stony Brook athletics officials wouldn't confirm the switch, Newsday reported other sources close to the move are saying the Seawolves will join the CAA. Sources also said Albany, one of the Seawolves' rivals, will also join the CAA.
Newsday dubbed Stony Brook's move to the CAA from the Big South "a big upgrade." The school will still field its other teams in the America East conference, according to the report.
