Report: Stony Brook Baseball Struggling Following Stellar Season

Seawolves are 9-18 heading into weekend series against Albany.

Seven former Seawolves are playing professional baseball these days, from the Class of 1997's Joe Nathan all the way to the Class of 2012's Travis Jankowski. Last season the Seawolves were the team that "shocked the world" by making it to the College World Series as the first northeastern-are team to make the CWS since 1986.

But this year, the Associated Press reports, the Seawolves are struggling, with nine straight losses to open the season and a 9-18 record heading into this weekend's series at Albany.

"If last year was in many respects the perfect storm of talent and experience to get us to the College World Series, this has been kind of the reverse perfect storm," head coach Matt Senk told AP.
