Fresh off his NFL combine experience – the first time a Stony Brook University football player has ever been invited to take part – former star running back Miguel Maysonet is preparing for Pro Day, a chance for "sell himself as a player" to pro scouts, according to ESPN.com.
"I know I can play in the NFL and have a good career. I have confidence in my ability and my work ethic," Maysonet told ESPN's Rich Cimini.
The NFL combine itself saw Maysonet poked and prodded by six different orthopedic doctors; informally interviewed by NFL personnel representing 15 different teams; subjected to a surprise 4:30 a.m. drug test; five hours of exams including psychological and intelligence tests; and more.
The 5-foot-9, 209-pound running back rushed for more than 4,700 yards in three seasons at Stony Brook. He couldn't partake in every physical drill during the combine due to a hamstring injury – which he is hoping to make up for at Friday's Pro Day at Stony Brook.
