Local Shops and Businesses Offer Black Friday Deals

Local shops provide refuge from the mall extravaganza.

Not every town hosts a main street or a village center, small boutique or specialty candy shop, but Three Village does which makes the town unique, endearing and something that many might take for granted.

Wedged in between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is small business Saturday and local shops are hoping to see crowded stores and shoppers who want an alternative to the mall crowd. Mom and pops are putting up their dukes and the deals to stay competitive with mega sales and doorbusters.

Stony Brook Village Center will welcome shoppers this weekend with a petting zoo for kids, food samples, wine tastings and a small town charm that can't be found in the mall. Additionally, shoppers that  spend $25 on their American Express cards there on Saturday will receive a $25 credit on their statement.

Setauket's Samantha Drew interiors, known for high end furnishings also offers one-of-a-kind gifts like handmade jewelry, tree ornaments, holiday decorations and bags stuffed with tissue and ribbon that make wrapping unnecessary. Check them out this weekend as well as their Dec. 5 Home for the Holidays event offering a night of shopping and decorating tips.
