Wolfie, SBU, No. 7 Seed in SUNY Mascot Madness Tourney

Voting starts at noon on Monday in the competition which will square up 30 mascots from across the SUNY network.

Voting starts at noon on Monday in a statewide tournament that will crown the state's best college mascot in the State University of New York school system.

The tournament, modeled after NCAA hoops' March Madness tournament, pits 30 mascots in a format that allows fans to vote for their favorites by visiting the tournament's Facebook page or by using the Twitter hashtag #MascotMadness. This year is the first SUNY Mascot Madness tournament.

Round 1 commences on Monday and ends at 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Stony Brook University and Wolfie – coming into the tournament as the No. 7 seed – will face off against Tompkins Cortland Community College and Pounce, the No. 26 seed who go by the Panthers.
