Wolfie isn't just the beloved mascot at Stony Brook University – he's a public figure in the community at large, attending events all over town to drum up school spirit.
On Wednesday, the Stony Brook athletic department held tryouts for students interested in becoming Wolfie, Newsday.com reports. Three students got the chance to don the furry, 7-foot-tall costume and give it their all to impress a panel of six judges.
One of those judges was Wolfie's agent: Stony Brook's coordinator of Annual Giving and Branding for athletics, Andrea Lebedinski. Newsday reports she asked questions such as "show us your swagger walk" and "How does Wolfie react when Stony Brook scores?"
But, according to Newsday, just who gets the job must remain a secret at all times.
