Ward Melville High School Boasts 17 National Merit Semifinalists

Seniors performed well on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Seventeen seniors from Ward Melville High School have been named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship program, the Three Village Central School District recently announced.

The 17 students achieving this recognition are: Charlotte Broadbent, Ray Chen, Ryan Gao, Luran He, Olivia Hu, Eidan Jacob, Emily Kaye, Henry Lane, Harrison Li, Julia Pinkava, Spencer Rosner, Alec Shangold, Alexander Shea, Alan Wei, Raymond Yin, Carolina Zheng and Jennifer Zhong.

The students achieved impressive scores on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which is given to approximately 1.5 million people. They will compete for 8,000 National Merit Scholarships worth approximately $35 million, and the finalists will be announced in February.
