and its president, Samuel L. Stanley Jr., have been lauded as best college or university, best college president, and best college sports program on Long Island in a new "Best of Long Island" poll published last week by the Long Island Press.
"Dr. Stanley is one of the pioneering minds transforming Long Island into an internationally recognized technological corridor," the Press wrote regarding Stanley.
The Press called Stony Brook University "not merely an institution of higher learning but more an incubator of some of the most brilliant minds and ideas on the planet."
