Seawolf Spotlight: How to Rock Red Lipstick at Stony Brook

Getting to know Stony Brook's biggest sports fans.

At any given SBU football game these days, there's no shortage of fans wearing red. However, perhaps few can rock red lipstick as well as Yelena Mirsakova can. What brought her to Stony Brook: It's no surprise that she is a serious Seawolves fan: she originally came to Stony Brook as a member of the dance team. Though she eventually left to concentrate on academics, Yelena says she hasn't missed a football or basketball game since.

Signature look: A red Seawolves t-shirt that she custom cut to go with her favorite ripped jeans.

Yelena's take on school spirit: "I think we're one of the biggest schools when it comes to school spirit. It's so important because it brings the school together. I'll be in the stands talking to people I don't even know like they're my best friends. Some people stay in their rooms, but then you don't get the whole Stony Brook experience."
