Student Film Wins Award in Long Island Media Arts Competition: A film by Trevor Munch, a sophomore at Ward Melville, was one of only 14 student films to screen at the Suffolk County Film Commission's seventh annual First Exposure high school best of show screening. Munch received a "best in show" award for his film, "Continuity of Parks."

Students of the Month: Mount Elementary announced its recent students of the month, with one student nominated from each class in each grade. From kindergarten: Michael Chen, Mallory Hoelzl, Anthony Competello, Riley Metz. From first grade: Joseph Little, Sabrina Huhne, Michael Fee-Kaufman, Isabella Berte. From second grade: Amber Sanchez, Danielle Raghurai, Alec Aguinaldo, Victoria Orvis. From third grade: Kayla Marchese, Caitlyn Calise, Mila Rosenthal-Vincenti, Kaylee DellaPorta. From fourth grade: Andrea Mosca, Sara Wohlgemuth, Clara Sullivan, Rohan Nagavardhan, Olivia Kelly. From fifth grade: Gio Errico, Kian Abbott, Skylar Johnston, Erica Hunter, Jack Calisi. From sixth grade: Sara Learner, Jessica Grant, Cameron Liquori, Caroline Meyers, Michael Groovenhoff, Ellie Berger.

Setauket Students Help Judge "Flame" Challenge: Sixth graders at Setauket were among students from a handful of schools from around the country and around the world – including schools from Alaska, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, China, Germany, Belgium, St. Croix, Canada – who were asked to help actor Alan Alda judge his . The students helped Alda narrow down the field of more than 800 entries to the top nine during the final round of judging.
