Recycling Good Books at Minnesauke Elementary

Minnesauke Elementary School students and staff members demonstrated several of the positive characteristics found in their schoolwide character education initiative during a recent donation project.

Hundreds of gently used books were donated during the week-long Minnesauke book drive. With the help of speech teacher Jenn Shea and school social worker Leia Woodruff, the items were sorted by age and grade level before being donated to an underprivileged school in the Bronx and the Head Start preschool/child care facility in Port Jefferson.
