Question: Is Stony Brook University a Community Resource?

We ask locals how they use the state university.

Looming over Nicolls Road stands , a large state institution that is packed with thousands of students and hundreds professors and health professionals who contribute to the populace of the Three Village area. But at Three Village Patch, we're wondering how the local community uses the university as a resource.

Of course, there are many of you who make your hospital of choice, but we're wondering about more than that.

For example, do you take your family to see Seawolves games at ? Or do you attend any college sporting event on campus?

On the arts front, do you regularly, or even once in a while, take in a concert at the , or the , or visit the university gallery to see what art works are on display? Do you attend the film festival?

The university is also packed with trails and open spaces. Do you jog through campus, or ride your bike on the trails? Do you take your family to picnic in the open fields?

The college also offers education resources to the community. Do you take professional development courses? Do you use the ceramics lab? Have you ever audited a lecture or seen a renowned speaker when they come to campus?
