Patch 101 for Stony Brook Students

Learn how you can use Three Village Patch.

Dear Stony Brook students,

Good luck in school this semester, and welcome to Three Village Patch! We're a community resource here not just for the surrounding town at large, but also for you to help you use and enjoy all the Stony Brook and Setauket communities have to offer. Here is how you can use Patch to help in your day-to-day life while at Stony Brook University.

Find stuff to do. Our events calendar is an easy way to find things to do in the community. Check it out here.

Put it on the calendar. Got a fundraiser coming up? Are you a musician with a show in the works? Gallery show, wine tasting, student rally? You get the picture. You can log in and add your own event to our events calendar.

Find a restaurant, convenience store, doctor's office, auto repair shop, and more in our directory. Our Directory lists hundreds of local places in town. When you need to find a place to shop for clothes, eat out with your friends, buy some posters for your dorm room walls, and more, the Patch directory is the way to go.

Prepare for your drive to school. Our Commute feature will show you the lowest gas prices in town, along with a real-time map to help you figure out what route has the least amount of traffic.

Send us a news tip. We love to hear your ideas, so reach out and let us know what's happening! Email christines@patch.com.

We're social butterflies. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter, both fun and convenient ways of interacting with Three Village Patch. Like us, follow us, stay in touch!

Get daily updates. Sign up for our newsletter here.

Announce it to the world. Did you make the Dean's list? Did your department achieve something special? Share it with the community by posting an announcement.

You might also be interested in visiting Patch websites in nearby Port Jefferson and Smithtown – the towns immediately next to Three Village – and in fun places like Patchogue, East Hampton and Huntington.

Check back every day to see what's going on in both the Stony Brook University community and the surrounding towns. Looking forward to interacting with you soon!

Cheers from your friendly neighborhood Patch editor,
Christine
