New School Trustees Installed; Diviney Re-Elected as Board President

Diviney's re-election was unanimous.

The Three Village Central School District on Tuesday installed three new trustees, who later helped re-elect previous board president John Diviney.

Irene Gische and Dr. Jeffrey Kerman, both of whom previously served the board in the past as trustees, took the oath of service along with Inger Germano.

The new board unanimously chose Diviney as president for another year. , his election came with a 4-3 vote.

Trustee Jonathan Kornreich, who nominated Diviney, described him as a fine board member who commands the respect of his peers on the board.

"His knowledge and experience have been a tremendous asset to us," Kornreich said.

Kornreich was later unanimously voted in as the new board vice president.

Recent Ward Melville graduate Zachary Baum lauded the move, calling Kornreich a strong advocate for students.

"Jonathan is a free-thinker who is willing to analyze out of the box solutions to our most pressing problems," Baum said in an email to Patch.

Interim superintendent Neil Lederer also took an oath of service for another year at the helm in Three Village.
