Seniors tell Patch their memories from the school year and more.

The graduation ceremony was an emotional one, if the parents with tears in their eyes were any indication. Afterward, amid hugs and laughter, some students shared a few thoughts with Patch about senior year and graduation.

How would you describe your senior year at Ward Melville?

Samantha Coticchio, 17: "It was happy, sad, but it was fun. That's how it feels. Leaving the school and the people here is sad, but it's happy because of all the memories that happened here. They'll never go away."

Kartik Kumaraguruparan, 17: "It was a tough but amazing experience. The new friendships I made, learning about new and different material, growing up and getting ready for the future."

What are you going to remember most about your time there?

Christopher Cohn, 18: "I'm going to remember playing cards with my friends at lunch. Gym sports with all my friends. Senior year was very simple because I had very easy classes and family support."

Sebastian Skaar, 17: "Do you remember the bomb threat last year? That's something I'll always remember."

Natalie Vetrano, 17: "I really, really loved the play that we did this year. It was the first one I ever went to. It was a great experience and it opened my eyes up to the music department here and what they can do."

Joy Zhong, 17: "Staying up all night to finish my assignments for my classes. And definitely prom and senior week. I think the school really does a nice job getting all of that together."

Anisha Satish, 17: "I'm just going to miss all my friends and all the good times we had in high school. Mrs. O'Brien helped me out a lot. I've had her all three years for math."

How does it feel to be graduating?

Lauren Kocivar, 18: "I thought today went absolutely amazing. The day itself, getting the diploma was exciting. All my peers that spoke did a phenomenal job. It was nice that each of us had a different approach to what we had to say in our speeches. I'm really proud of everyone and I wish everyone the best of luck."

Haley Blunt, 17: "I'm excited for all of our futures. I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life. I wish everyone the best of luck."

Doug Cascio, 18: "I'm happy to graduate and I'm sure everyone's happy to graduate too. It was a good time."
