BOE Adopts $176.7M Budget for Re-Vote

The new proposed budget is within the state's tax cap and will need a simple majority to pass.

The Three Village Board of Education on Tuesday adopted a budget of $176.7 million to present to the community for a re-vote – a budget that if approved will preserve full-day kindergarten, junior high school athletics, and a nine-period day at the high school.

The budget comes with a tax levy increase of 2.99 percent, which matches the state's tax cap for Three Village and will only require a simple majority of voter approval for it to pass.

The $176,701,579 proposed budget represents a 1.20 percent spending increase over last year's budget. It required another $1.95 million in reductions from the original proposed budget – the which failed to gain a supermajority of voter support on May 15.
