Morning Tech Talk - Monday: Introducing the Samsung Galaxy S4 - Soon that is!

Samsung is releasing their latest smartphone on March 14th. Check out some rumored features.

If you're an android fan, the latest news on the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4 should get you excited. Let's take a quick look at what Samsung's next biggest thing may have in store for us.

We know of a few features that the Galaxy S4 will have. The S4, or SIV, if you're keeping up with the roman numeral thing, is rumored to be powered by Samsung's new Exynos 5 processor, which will have a whopping eight cores. Sources say the S4 will include a 5in Full HD display with an impressive 1920x1080 resolution, following a trend starting with rival HTC's Butterfly handset. Such a display would have an impressive pixel density of around 440 pixels per inch (PPI) - significantly above the resolution of Apple's Retina display technology. Furthermore, if the interwebs are correct, we will see the S4 pack an even thinner layer of Corning's Gorilla Glass, making it more durable and even lighter to handle.

Wireless charging may also be included, which would allow you to charge your devices wirelessly using a pad. It's possible that the company could go a lot further as a recent patent application shows. Samsung's wireless charging patent, applied for in July last year and published in December, describes a technology that combines wireless power with a modulated carrier signal - allowing the handset to communicate with the charging mat or stand. If it allows data, Samsung's technology could allow extra features, such as placing your phone on a speaker dock and have it play music wirelessly.
