Morning Tech Talk - Friday Freebies!

This Friday is for Windows users. Check out our full featured freebies!

This week's Friday Freebies are for Windows users. Take a look at our favorite picks for this week and add your own favorites in the comments. :)

Dropbox: As discussed last week, Dropbox is a free, easy to use, online storage container. You can upload just about anything you need to, share it with others and even use it as a nightly off-site backup for your documents and pictures. If you are away from your computer, you can simply login to the Dropbox website to gain access to your files. The desktop utility will even sync your choice of files and folders giving you duplicate copies of your data.

Recuva: Have you ever emptied the recycle bin and then realized you may have just deleted something that shouldn't have been there in the first place. Oh boy! Now what? Did you backup that document, picture or tax form? Of course not... With Recuva, data recovery is quite simple and straight forward. The software is very thorough and intuitive, putting the pieces of your files back together and, as the name suggests, recovering them! Use it to undelete data on a USB drive (see screenshot below), a camera's memory card, or even an MP3 player. It's certainly the most important PC utility a camera owner can have.

7Zip: 7Zip is your new favorite utility and is a much better fit than the zip utility included with Windows. Why? Because some people of the Apple persuasion will send you RAR files from time to time, and 7Zip is the fast, easy, completely free way to handle them.

Wiseval Photphant: Wiseval is, by far, the greatest resizing and conversion application available on the free market. You can choose from one of the predefined sizes (800 by 600, 1,024 by 768, and many more) or set up your own custom size; convert between JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, and TIFF formats with compression techniques that you specify. You'll use this application more than you think.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
The free version of Malwarebytes is the software that tech support people at other anti-malware companies tell customers to install when a virus becomes entrenched. It's a clean-up pro.

Wavosaur:
