Morning "Tech Talk" - Friday Freebies

Free apps on Friday - iPad and iPhone

In Apple's App Store you'll find over 750,000 applications for your iOS devices. We've compiled a nice little list for you of the best "free apps" for your most favored Apple device. Search the apps by name in the App Store to download.

1. Draw Something Free - This addictive drawing game is more fun than it should be. Like pictionary but without the time limits and exhaustive screaming from your spouse. When it's your turn to draw you get a choice of three words, give it your best "draw" and send it to your friend, complete stranger, opponent or rival. With each word you guess correctly you get rewarded coins. Each turn comes with harder words and more coins. Draw on!

2. Temple Run 2 - The sequel to the smash hit phenomenon that took the world by storm! Temple Run redefined mobile gaming. Now get more of the exhilarating running, jumping, turning and sliding you love in Temple Run 2! Navigate perilous cliffs, zip lines, mines and forests as you try to escape with the cursed idol. How far can you run?

3. Pandora Radio - Enjoy all of your stations right from your mobile phone or tablet. You can also create new stations, and rate songs using thumbs up and thumbs down. Pandora on iOS devices is fully integrated with Pandora on the web, so everything you create and personalize on your device appears next time you're back on the web.

4. Flashlight by iHandy - The brightest, fastest, and most versatile flashlight in the world, ever! Instantly turn on the camera light, and then leisurely enjoy 60+ light effects.

5. MINT - Mint pulls all your financial accounts into one place. Set a budget, track your goals and do more with your money, for free!

6. Adobe Photoshop Express – Normally, digital photography editing has been left to the professionals, with server grade computers and expensive editing software. However, Adobe has changed all that with Photoshop Express. Now, you can make light photo edits and reduce noise in your photos directly from your device. Photoshop Express is by far the best mobile photo editor.

7. Chrome Browser - I really should list this app twice, but in the interest of saving room, I’ll keep it down to one. Seriously though, the Chrome browser going mobile was the best thing to happen to mobile browsing. Not only does it present a nice look and feel, but it’s fast too. You can even sync your browsing favorites across all of your devices.

8. GateGuru – How long does it take to travel between gates during a layover? Which airport bathrooms are the cleanest? How’s the food in the surrounding restaurants? You’ll answer these questions and more by using GateGuru at an airport near you.

9. Google Translate - With more than 30 languages supported and delivering impressively accurate results most of the time, the Google Translate app is one of the most remarkable programs you can load onto your device. It’s certainly better than thumbing through a dictionary translator.

10. IMDb Movies and TV – What was the name of that movie… the one with Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger?  The next time you can’t remember the name of an actor, television show or film (Twins, by the way) IMDb is there for you. You an even look up showtimes and purchase tickets for current movies.

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.

Can you tell us where this property is? An address or street name?

I the BOE and Union didn't allow the majority of the budget be spent on benefits and salaries maybeRead More there would be money left for supplies. With declining enrollment and cuts to programs for our kids they only ones making out are teachers and staff with too generous salaries and benefits. Vote no on Tuesday!

Seriously? We are asked to send in enough supplies per kid each year to supply 5 kids. Where does itRead More all go? It gets lost, thrown out, or ends up back in the students home via backpack. The problem is not the lack of supplies, but a lack of personal responsibility. But if we send in enough supplies each year for ten or fifteen students, then we might be able to avoid the underlying problem.

everyone should research what all the school administrators are raking in and the multple levels ofRead More staff that exists at TVCSD. It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!
