Monday Morning Mobile - What's new and upcoming in mobile hardware?

What's next for mobile devices? What will Apple, Samsung and Microsoft have to offer?

Now that we've seen the latest mobile devices released from the top mobile manufacturers in the world, what's next?

Apple has been rumored to be coming out with a new iPhone series much earlier than the anticipated annual October release. We may see this and another rendition of the ipad mini by spring 2013. The "new new iPhone" will most likely feature the same physical design as the iphone 5, but may include a beefier camera (as high as 13 megapixels), larger flash, and Super HD screen. In addition to these features may come something Apple enthusiasts have patiently waited for. What is it you ask? Well, NFC capability of course... With the addition of this little chip, near field communication could change the way devices talk to the increasingly mobile friendly world around them. Read more in tomorrow's post entitled "Tuesday in Tech."

Another juicy tidbit for the apple-ites! Apple may release more than one phone this year... Stay tuned for updates!

Samsung plans are also in the works for the next release of their insanely popular Galaxy S3 models. Rumors are plentiful in this device series. A 5 inch, 1080p high resolution display, 13 megapixel camera, and continued NFC support are among the most popular.  Samsung may be ahead in the game when it comes to "phablets." Is it a phone or a tablet? Does it matter anymore? More on this during the week...

What about the much hyped Windows 8 phones and tablets? Yes, of course, I was getting to that...

Microsoft will have a hand in every area of the mobile marketplace this year. With the debut of Microsoft's surface tablets in late 2012 and early 2013, they are heavily leveraged in the mobile arena. The big three wireless carriers have announced Windows 8 phones from some of the top mobile manufacturers in the World. Samsung, HTC and Nokia will all be offering new, blazingly fast Windows 8 phones. Surface, Microsoft's tablet offering, is also making a few waves. These devices offer some great, extension of the desktop features. Look for a post dedicated to these devices in the next few days.
