Village Vistas Models Open in Port Jefferson Village

New 55-and-over community will be the first in the Village of Port Jefferson.

A new 55-and-over town house community in Port Jefferson has opened its models and has already gone to contract on 20 of its 43 units.

According to real estate agent Dennis P. Consalvo, the Village Vistas community is the only one of its kind in the village.

"Most of the people who are buying are residents of Port Jefferson and surrounding areas," he said. "For everybody that's selling and downsizing in Port Jefferson and Belle Terre and wants to stay on Long Island, this is a great community."

The community sits on a property once known as the Wunderlich estate.

The community, with condos starting at $799,000, is built on an 18-acre property on Liberty Avenue with a 10-acre conservation easement. Consalvo said taxes are approximately $6,000 and the monthly maintenance fee is $289. Each unit has two master bedrooms, Energy Star appliances, and a fireplace.

The community will also feature a clubhouse with a great room with stone fireplace, a billiard room, an exercise facility, an outdoor pool and a putting green.

Residents will begin moving in April 1. Buyers interested in more information can call 631-724-1000 or visit Consalvo's website. Open houses are scheduled for weekends between noon and 3 p.m. with weekday availability by appointment.

Does 55 and older mean no kids can live there?
Christine Sampson February 24, 2013 at 05:03 PM
That is correct – no one under 19 years old is allowed to live there.

I always wonder how retired people can afford to live on Long Island- $799,000 for a condo, yes that is insane. If my son and his wife were not here I would be the hell out of here.
