Where Are Power Outages in Three Village?

Let us know what streets are still without power.

More than one week after Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on the East Coast and knocked out power for nearly 1 million Long Islanders, there are still thousands of Long Island Power Authority customers in the Three Village area – and over 250,000 across Long Island – in the dark.

Patch is compiling a list of exactly what parts of the area are waiting for power. Use the comments section below to post the name of a street, business or intersection you know is still without electricity, and if you've heard from LIPA yet.

(For safety reasons, do not list specific addresses just street names and cross streets.)

There are 6 houses on Burgess Lane, Stony Brook that have been without power since 10/29.. The cross street is Barker Drive. LIPA says now we can not expect restoration before 11/13. Yesterday, LIPA said that the homes without power the longest will be restored first. Now, they say that is not the case. The governor just said that power has been restored in residential areas and have moved on the 'impacted areas'. This is unacceptable.

Hargrove & Hastings drive still has a huge pine tree down in the lines. No power since the storm.

Hastings Drive in Stony Brook along with the loop of Hargrove we were without power 8 days last summer, this is 12 so far, it would help if LIPA came, looked and removed the trees that are down on the power lines.

There are currently 124 linemen working out of the Terryville substation and 146 working out of the Port Jefferson substation. These two substations cover Setauket and Stony Brook in addition to Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson Station and Terryville. LIPA believes most of these outages will be restored by the end of Saturday, November 10. Please email us (EngleS@assembly.state.ny.us) your name and address if you are still without power and we will make sure LIPA is aware of your outage and try to get an ETA for you. It is also helpful if you tell us if it is only your house, and entire block, etc. that is without power. Your continued patience and cooperation is always appreciated. Steve Englebright
